I think a lot of people might think that only people who live on a flood plain. I recall seeing that FEMA indciated 25 percent of all flood claims come from homes located outside designated flood plains. Another option to consider is purchasing sewer and drain backup/sump pump failure for water that comes in via your sewer or your sump pump crock.

Great article! Another huge factor for teen drivers is restricting the use of the car (who can drive with them, hours that they can use the car, etc.).

Hi Tom:

Generally speaking, a rider or endorsement will provide broad coverage on jewelry. Normally speaking, it will include losing an item or if it goes "missing". I will have your agent Tom Mack contact you to give you more details.

With West Bend Mutual, I have a rider where my wife's engagement ring is scheduled. Is it covered if it were to simply go missing? And, is it covered if I'm on vacation in the Caribbean?

Thanks,
Tom

My brother & I have POA for our ageing parents. We began cashing out their CD's as they matured and tranferring them into accts in our name in early 2006 thru late 2007. Total amount was approx $100,000.00 We're hoping on keeping them OUT of a nursing home for another year or so with home health care providers. My question is, can I cash out the more recent CD's to pay for this care and could this be a problem for us IF they go into a nursing home and these CD's do not pass the "look back" period and they have been spent?
